Set off in good time at 1530 but encountered heavy traffic on the M62. It lasted virtually all the way to Oldham. I found the ground relatively easily and parked in a back alley. I was desperate for the toilet and decided to do it behind the van. Just as I had deposited my turd, a train went past very slowly. It was packed and was pulling into the station further up the track. You have never seen anyone pull up their trousers so quickly! The match was very entertaining. Quality goals. My favourite Premier player Wilfred Boni scored. A magnificent stadium.

Went with Dad. First time to Etihad since I went for the Commonwealth Games in 2002, when it was the City of Manchester Stadium. They''ve filled in one end since then, and also covered every blank space they can find with sky blue decals and the Etihad logo. Including a banner that tells Sheik Mansour that ''Manchester thanks you''. How genuine that banner is I can only guess. The game itself was alright, plenty of goals, City played some lovely stuff, Yaya with a dink over the top from the centre circle, and De Bruyne''s cross field through ball on the half volley particularly sticking out. the young lad Kelechi Iheanacho deservedly gained MOTM, two assists and a goal, he was great all game. Only 19 but he doesn''t panic and calmly plays the right ball at the right time. He doesn''t seem to force anything, lets the game come to him instead of chasing it desperately. Very impressive. Palace came with a strong side but never really seemed to think they could do it. Bolasie was their best player but after a nasty head clash with Zabaleta half way through the first half he never seemed to recover, and with City scoring a few minutes later, Palace seemed to deflate. A routine win for City. Honourable mensh for the ticket prices, £15 for adults, £5 for kids, and the ground was mostly full. United could learn a thing or two. Tho atmosphere was shite, and there was cringey stadium announcer trying to gee everyone up.
