The big one !! Shrewsbury Town v Brighton Hove Albion in the area semi final off the Johnson Paint Trophy !! Fletch, Joe, Dom and Stu again teamed up to continue there quest to ''do the 92'' The lads set off and arrived about 7pm before getting a pint in and there match tickets The lads arrived in the ground, a quick munch and in to the playing area, there where not that far away from the fudge packers in the away end and where a little scared for there arse's, anyhow the lads took there seats and the game was soon underway !! Not many players on either teams could be reconised in both teams. Brighton had former Blues forward Nicky Forster up front and as club captain while Shrewsbury had the free scoring Grant Holt, Richard Walker who grew up in West Heath and old Whitey on the flank on loan from Southampton. The first half was poor, the game was physical but did not have much class or many chances and was goalless at the break !! A pint and a bit of food at half time and out for the second half. It was like two new teams in the second half, the game was end to end and chances going either way, Holt had a chance saved for Shrewsbury while White went on a mazy run beating two players and hitting a cracking shot that the keep saved, Shrewsbury also struck a post. Brighton also created a few good openings, a couple of shots going wide and one just over the bar but as the game continued Stu's 2-0 to Shrewsbury bet looked to be all over !!  It was, the game ended goalless and as this is the Johnston Paint Trophy there was to be no extra time and straight to penalties. Goals where guaranteed and a first penalty shoot out live for Dom while it was the first time Fletch, Joe and Stu where to witness a penaly shoot out live in over 6 and a half years, the last being the famous Birmingham City win over Norwich City in the play off final !! The lads headed up to the other end where the pens where being taken and found a few seats spare. The lads where to witness 9 cracking penalties on the spin with Brighton leading 5-4, the last kick fell to Grant Holts who's penaltalty was poor and saved. Brighton had won. There players jumped for joy and thought about running and then thought F*CK IT !! CANT BE ARSED !! And the majority just shook hands with the Shrewsbury players while 2 jumped on the goaly !! The Shrewsbury faithfull clapped the players off, the lads headed to the pub !! Back at the pub the lads found a cozy room (a little like a living room) and sat down for a after the match pint and chat, a quick beer and the lads headed off just before 11pm.   A eventfull drive home was to be on the cards, the majority off the journey was all ok but Dom needed to get petrol not long before the journey ended. The lads pulled off and after driving about eventually found a petrol station, Dom topped up and paid, never the petrol attendant or Dom where sure they had legitimate notes and checked them after the transaction. The lads headed on and Fletch commented on what a succesfull journey it had been, BIG MISTAKE !!   The piggys where else in force doing a drink driving compaign, Dom was pulled over and asked where the little terror had been tonight and if he had been drinking. Dom said yes, Piggy said you need to take a breathalizer, even though Dom had only had 2 pints the lads and Dom where nervouse, the breathilzer come out and piggy sounded like a Brighton fan as he said to Dom ''BLOW BLOW BLOW'' Good old Dom ''BLEW'' The lads where told the results would take 15-30 seconds, this was not true, it took at least a minute that felt like a hour, the results come in, Dom had hit a 9 which was a pass, the lads where all relived and set off home !! Dom dropped the lads home and another succesfull trip was complete !!
