Drove to the game with a mate and his two kids, day started as it would finish in pain as his dog bit me before we set out! Large away following nearly half the capacity. Oldham were the better team in the first half but Tranmere took the lead against the run of play before half time. Played better second half and doubled the score however the joy was tempered by an injury to Nevitt the scorer when the electronic advertising board fell on him under the weight of a couple of dozen celebrating fans, they were not secured and despite trying to play on he had to be subbed five minutes later. The ref was poor(two players left limping after fouls that weren''t awarded) but so was our defending as Oldham drew level firstly from a cross from the by-line inside the box and then from an og header. Both sides created plenty of chances, rovers had a goal disallowed for offside? and Oldham hit the post with both keepers making saves. Oldham won the penalty shoot out after one shot hit the inside of the post and another was saved, Oldham hit one high and wide. Disappointingly their fans invaded the pitch which could have been 150, they all looked in their teens (quid a kid)?but a good number ran the length of the pitch to goad the away fans with the players still on the pitch. The away coach was damaged as they left the car park under a barrage of stones which broke a window. Sad times
