Comments :
A weekend away with Graham in tow. Picked him up near Cheltenham on the way, bag drop at Bristol North Holiday Inn, a walk to the station and train into Parson Street. Lunch in The Luckwell Hotel (really good Bass, simple tasty food and big screen rugby) before a walk to the ground in bright sunshine. Ashton Gate is an old ground and the seats were very small and uncomfortable (open slat wood) but the crowd made an incredible noise (for 14,000) and the game was surprisingly high quality and the second half very exciting despite the lack of goals. After the match it was a gentle walk across the park to The Pump House for a few beers/gins and then on to a Thai for ''supper''. Taxi back to the hotel and straight into the Fox''s Den pub for a few more drinks before bed. In the night I stubbed my toe. It really really really hurt a lot. A great and gently memorable day.
