In the era before the internet and mobile phones, setting out for a game in driving snow was always a lottery. I was heading for Charlton v Wolves, rang the club at Redditch, Coventry and Warwick. Charlton game was called off late, Charlton weren''t happy and I re-directed to Cambridge. All 4 goals were headers!
