Comments :
First game of season three and a beautiful balmy summer''s evening (22 degC). Charlie picked me up from Rugby station and drove us down arriving in time to grab a couple of pints in the social club and watch Prince George emerge from the hospital. Everybody very friendly including the steward who tried to direct us to our turnstile with a complete jumble of goobledygook. As we said, damned lucky he''s not calling in an air-strike!! The ground is neat, compact and fit for purpose and both teams were highly committed to the match despite it being a pre-season ''friendly''. Question - why have a clock built into the stand and allow it to not work. That said, the scoreboard is the best since Port Vale. Lots of fun and banter. Chicken Balti pie for Chaz and steak and kidney for Baz. The last two, causing a family argument in the pie stall. Back to Henley for debrief and cocktails
