Comments :
This is a really nice stadium - well propotioned and fully enclosed making it a great arena. And as the stands are steeply banked you feel really close to the action even high up in 'the Gods'. Bizarre though (in these days of health and safety) that it appears to have been built in the middle of a motorway race track (dual carriageway all the way round and in and out) without any pedestrian crossings or traffic lights. You have to skip between the traffic to get to and from the ground. Ridiculous!!! Very warm aned summery outside but once in the shadow bloomin' freeezing. And not helped at all by the dreadful standard of football. Quite honestly, Reading were lucky to get zero and no surprise at all that they will be relegated. Saddest of all was their manifest lack of fight. They seemed to just roll over and die. On the other hand Pocchetino's Southampton looked organised and gritty. Again, no wonder they will stay up. As the season draws to a close both Charlie and I were more than a little subdued today. And we have just decided to scratch our plans for the last 3 games we had pencilled in. So, with Southend moving next Friday's game, we now have only 2 more games this season. Boo-hoo. Only amusing thing today was Southampton fans singing to Reading you're going down with teh Redknapp in reference to (their ex boss) Harry being relegated with QPR. Oh yes and (just remembered) Saints fans singing to their ex boss Nigel Adkins, he's too good for you.
