The Bees took a massive step towards promotion with a dogged display against a doomed Portsmouth team.
A bright start to the match had Brentford dominating play and took the lead through Wright-Phillips drilling home from 15 yards. Portsmouth responded 5 mins later when the ball ricocheted off Dean into the path of Connolly who superbly finished from outside the area. Play was more even as the half continued but I think we edged it as the HT whistle was blown.
Portsmouth started brighter in the second period and it was no surprise when they took the lead. Cooper was allowed a couple of turns before finishing well from 25 yards. We continued to plug away but without success. With 20 mins to go Rosler started to make changes which culminated in us playing with 3 up front. A master stroke as it turns out as Wright-Phllips on 85 mins followed by Donaldson racing onto a BWP through ball a minute later turned it around and gave us a very important 3 points.
Portsmouth fans showed their scummy side at the end by invading the pitch. Now a fan owned club but felt it necessary to act like hooligans in the name of celebration.
