The fact I had not visited St Mary's I decided to take advantage of Southampton FC selling tickets for there FA Cup 3rd round game against C.Palace at just £10.00. With my club Birmingham City playing at home to Bournemouth in the cup I did'nt fancy the long journey up to Birmingham from the South coast so had a day out in Southampton.
After visiting a couple of Wetherspoons pubs in town I made my way to St Mary's Stadium. On arrivaL I was very impressed, how'ever my ticket was allocated close to the away supporters and being a neutral all I wanted to do was sit down and watch the match but was forced to have to stand for the whole of the match, how'ever there was some good
exchanges between the two sets of supporters, Palace brought around 4,000 and they produced a great atmosphere,
and they won the match 2-1. After the game I returned to one of the Wetherspoons for a drink before walking across
the bridge to Woolston station in order to get a train back changing at Fareham where I stopped off for a couple of drinks. Overall I enjoyed my day at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium and enjoyed the match as a neutral.
