Well, we finally did it. The last away game of the season, and we did it in fancy dress!!! Dom (Ozzy Osbourne), Nath (Barack Obama), JK (Michael Jackson) & Seb (2pac) were the decided upon costumes. Chris also attending was going to bring his Mick Jagger rubber mask but suspiciously couldnt find it.
Anyway, day begins... we planned to meet at the Dragon in town for breakfast at 7.30 in the morning, for some unknown reason Seb gets to the Troc and phones JK to say where are you, the pubs not open?! JK replies I had to pop back home, i forgot something... i''ll be there in abit... and we''re meeting and the Dragon not the Troc you idiot Seb feels stupid! Seb (finally) gets to the Dragon, Nath, Dom & Chris already seated and breakfast ordered. JK arrives, everyone except JK has some food then head up to new st to get the train. Couple tins on the train - have to change at Northampton. At that station we began to enjoy the fact of being in fancy dress, JK does his best MJ poses for the camera... not very good! Get on the train and 2 jailbate at some point come and start chirpsin JK, he''s not interested. Couple more drinks, get off the train at Euston and walk along Euston road to go to a pub called the rocket. Stayed in there for a few rounds - lunch - and watched part of the Chelsea-Newcastle game.
After leaving went to get a taxi, some random chinese guy asked Seb where he got his 2pac mask to his reply internet - he refuses to reveal his sources, then hopped in a taxi along the Holloway Rd, got out by a pub where villa fans (also in fancy dress) are in a jubilant mood. Went to an offy near the ground, Seb buys a bottle of Kopperberg, lads buy cans, as Seb/2pac is walking out the store opening the bottle with his teeth, 2 rent-a-cops are walking his way oi, you cant drink that here said one in an aussie accent, Seb clearly inspired by his 2pac / Thug life costume walks away from the police and proceeds to neck the bottle of cider as he doesnt want to pore it away. The other lads acosted by the shop are made to drink their cans right there. Seb did cheekily try to sneak back past them on the other side of the road but got collared so had to finish the drink on that road! Fair enough.
Get into the ground, the away end is mental with loads of fancy dress (mario bros, osama bin laden, the muppets, wheres wallys, dangermouse, and the stars of the show Ozzy, MJ, Barack & 2pac) to name but a few. Non stop chants of they''re going uuuuuuuuuuuup, they''re going dowwwwwwwwn, they''re going uuuuuuuuuuuup, they''re going dowwwwwwwwn! being sang. During the game JK''s prop (bubbles the monkey) began to deflate after being Accidentally Damaged during the celebration for Darren Bents 1st (amazing) goal, sadly JK doesnt have PP1 on his policy so wouldn''t have been able to claim. Luckily Seb had bought some spare tape for his mask and an emergency surgery was performed mid-game and bubbles came back to life! Darren Bent scored a 2nd and we went balistic. Gave loads of grief to an idiotic Arsenal fan in the upper tier getting irate for no reason. Van Persie got a late consolation but it didnt stop us taking all 3 points.
Decided to walk back from the emirates and did an off licence-crawl unknowingly... 2pac received alot of love from the passers-by in London, Westsiiiiide! Took a picture by a road called cum(ming) street and other various random landmarks!
Popped into the scotsman on the way back and saw the best (scottish) and worst (battered) of the scenery within the space of 1hour!
Headed back to Euston - Seb, JK, Nath & Chris like the commoners they are get a burger king, Dom thinks he''s better than everyone else so gets not just any pasta, an M&S pasta. Then despite having a great away day in fancy dress, Seb, JK, Dom, Nath & Chris proceeded to have an arguement for the majority of the train journey back about Houllier (good or bad), Barcelona (1 man team or not) & Downing (no shock there).
Definitely one of the better away days, can''t wait for next season! UTV!!!
