Getting up at 7am, on the coach at 8:30, Hartlepool felt like an age away. At Blyth services we bumped into the Histon players on their way to Guiseley. We continued on, and after 3 and a half hour travelling, we hit Teesside, where the sky turned grey and the temperature dropped. On arrival at Hartlepool I got my ticket and sat in the centenary bar and watched Gillette Soccer Saturday. A man in a suit approached me and asked how many journey was, very friendly, and the players of Hartlepool were happy to have pictures taken with us. At 2 o clock, the turnstiles were opened and I went in before enjoying a pretty good game and some bitterly cold weather... Well, maybe not the latter.
A long Journey home awaited me. You know you've gone along way when you spend an hour and a half getting to Doncaster with two and a half hours still to go. But it passed quickly and got home safe and sound around 20 past 9.
We won 2-0. a good result, a good day.
