First Away match i have been to with my Girlfriend Mel and i was a very pleasant day out. Left at 11.15am just in case got caught in traffic. Journry was very easy and took no longer than 1hr 40 mins and all the woorying about parking was eased as arrived in good time. Got street parking 100 yds from ground. Lots of people arriving at same time so glad got therev early.
We had a stroll before going to away end and there are lots of fast food places but we visited a Sandwich Bar just outside the Away End and it was excellent and great value. Ther is a memorabilia shop next door to it that sold lots of programmes and club badges. I bought 3 badges to dd to my Teamds Grounds Visited collection.
Nice ground and great view. Dont normally like to sit behind the goal but this was high up and quite exciting.
Although game was 0-0 it was a good end to end game and very enjoyable. The MK Dons fans were very vocifirous and the Sheffield Wednesday supporters the quietest i have ever heard. I expect after the poor seasons performance they were hoping and expecting for some winning respite against a lower division side, but MK Dons shaded it with a couple of fine saves from the Sheff Wed keeper and a shot off the post.
Of course theer was the opportunity to reflect the Hilsborough Disaster so that put things into perspective and we both enjoyed our visit.
PS : Stewards were relaxed, helpful, and friendly, as werec supporters when spoken to outside the ground.
