Stoke City away Christmas 2009 !!
Chris attends only his third away game off the season, Warren his second, Joe..................well you know Joe not one to be beaten and its about his eighth !!
A bit off a come down for Chris who was at about 12 this time last year and Joe about 15 but the lads are on there way to support europe bound blues !!
Birmingham have been on a unbelievable run, from the last away game Christopher went to (the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal in the middle off October) they have not tasted defeat and are 10 games unbeaten which is a unbelieveable run for a newly promoted team and a win today would take them on to 32 points, a amazing tally before the year is out and realistacally just 8 points from safety with 18 games to go.
Chris and Joe have fond memories off Stoke away, both in attendance for Birmingham last win there back in January 1998, a amazing 7-0 victory (please refer to the top off this page if you are interested in the report). Joe did have bad memories off Stoke's Victoria Ground though after attending seven times and not tasting a win
Anyway, enough rabbiting on, over to the game and day.
Dave doing a rare away trip picks Chris and Warren up from the Whateley household and the lads head off. They pick Joe up from the horseshoes who is surprisingly on time, unlike two days earlier.
The lads arrive and pop in for the george for a couple off pre-match drinks, a couple off pints for the bluezu, a couple off shorts for the puffs in gay glasses !!
On the coach and the lads get ready to go, unfortunately some muppets dont turn up on time and the coach is delayed, eventually there off !!
A game off card for Chris and Warren on the way, a bit off meditating for Joe.
For a change there are no stops and the lads arrive just before 2pm
A bit peckish they head for some food, Chris is disgusted to be charged £4 yes £4 for a cheeseburger, shocking, still the growing lad pays up and demolishes the burger,
In the ground a few pre-match beers are called for.
The lads keep a look out for Marc who is attending his one away or one game a season thanks to big brothers Chris's xmas present and Dougie. The lads dont arrive though and after three beers the lads head to the stand.
A freezing half begins without much happening although Dougie arrives tens minutes in to the first half to advise Marc is in the ground but he dosent know where, there is a spare seat next to the lads so a least he can sit with the lads second half. A dull first half ends goaless, Chris leaves a couple off minutes early to get the beers with Joe's money and actually gives him some change.
Chris finishes his beer and Warren being a lightweight has a swig off his and gives it Chris, Chris wont compain and starts drinking it.
Warren and Joe head back up for the second half, Chris and Marc are daudling behind.
Rumours suddenly start that Blues have scored, the lads dont believe it but on arrival to the seats relise they have missed Cameron Jeromes goal !! WHO CARES, BLUES LEAD !!
Birmingham supurb defence expecially, Joe Hart, Roger Johnson and Scott Dann stand strong and theres no way through for Stoke. Hart again looks a class act and makes two world class stops. Bowyer and Ferguson are supurb in midfield !!
Chants off ''we're all going on a european tour'' and '' your going to coventry, we're going to Italy'' begin and the bluesnoses begin to enjoy there new found sucess !!
The funnyiest chant off the days however is ''Alex Mcleish is a effing genious !!'' Fair play to Big eck he has turned things around and probably signed 2 off the best centre backs around !! Along with a supurb loan goalkeeper and 2 vetern midfielders still cutting it at the top level !!
They see the game out and win AGAIN !! 11 unbeaten a club record in the top flight and 32 points before 2010 begins !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SENSATIONAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lads and the bluenoses celebrate and applaud the players off !!
Marc meets up with Dougie and the lads get the coach back and are in town not long after 6pm !!
A macces for the lad, Warren heads hom, Chris and Joe hit the beer and spend the evening drinking in the shoes and watch more football until they are eventually told time gentleman please !!
A GREAT DAY !! COME ON ALEX TAKE US TO EUROPE !!!!!!!!!!!
